We have Big News to share!

As most of you know, 2nd Story Goods exists to build a road that connects Makers to Markets.

Operating under the non-profit, MUCH Ministries since its inception in 2011, there is no personal ownership of the company. 2SG was built to be a benefit to Haiti, a reliable road to be used by the artisans, for the artisans.

Building this connecting road has taken design, marketing, warehouse, and technical support by our team in the US.  And, against all odds together we’ve developed relationships and systems that work.

Our founder, Kathy Brooks, with Ariel, one of the co-owners of 2nd Story Goods. He’s been with us since the beginning!

There is a math problem whose solution says we need to cut the cost of US support so that the Artisans can retain a larger margin on the sale of goods, as the cost of doing business in Haiti has only gone up with the current political unrest.

So now the US support team is working themselves out of their jobs.

The process began in 2022 when Gonaives Manufacturing Company, “GMC,” was born, and the Haiti side of 2nd Story Goods (Local Operations + Artisans) became its own company! And now, they are preparing to run the entire 2nd Story Goods brand.

So, our BIG NEWS is that starting April 1, 2025, 2nd Story Goods will officially be a fully owned and operated Haitian Business. Top to Bottom. Start to Finish. The Haiti team will become the storytellers, marketers, and fulfill all orders!  It is an exciting new chapter.

You can continue to order on the 2SG website like you always have. Though some products will be cycling out, watch for new products to come.

Wholesale buyers can continue ordering 2nd Story Goods and Haiti Design Co goods on FAIRE and our wholesale website. This will not change with the next chapter!  You’ll be getting more info soon. Rest assured that your orders will continue to be fulfilled with the same quality you’ve come to expect with us.

For now, we’re focusing on making this transition as smooth as possible. We’re here to answer your questions and are working closely with the team in Haiti as they train staff for this next chapter.

This work of building a makers-to-market company has been and will continue to be one of the greatest honors of our lives. We appreciate every ounce of your support over the past 14 years and appreciate your continued support of 2nd Story Goods in this next chapter.
