Social Media Intern
In search of a passionate individual who:
-has a proven skill set in social media curation and management
-has an interest in social enterprise/non-profit organizations/ethical manufacturing
-has strong writing and communication skills
-is able to work independently
-wants to both learn new skills and contribute their talents and education to a social cause
Details:
-looking to fillspring, summer, and fall 2022 positions. Flexible start and end dates.
-this is a remote position with weekly Zoom/phone meetings with the Marketing Manager
-students from all majors can be considered for this position
-this is a volunteer, unpaid position that is eligible for school credit.
-as long as all assigned work is done, this work can be done on your own time. Max time expected will be 15 hours a week with room for flexibility (ex. Working 20 hours one week and 10 the next, etc.)
- More hours can be incorporated into the position for more course credit if desired.
Responsibilities:
-plan and post 3-7 social media posts each week
-craft 1-2 marketing emails per week
-give a weekly report to the Marketing Manager on social media/email marketing success stats
-meet with Marketing Manager once a week to receive training and feedback
-work with Marketing Manager to plan social media strategy for the duration of the internship.
-research ways we can improve our social media and email marketing strategies, best practices for implementing social media ads, and other related research as assigned. Submit a report on findings and recommendations to 2nd Story Goods at the end of the internship.
-complete weekly learnings (assigned reading/podcast/etc. related to work) and submit summaries.
-other related tasks as assigned
Expectations:
-Marketing Manager will provide you with an introduction to the company, initial training on our systems, brand vision, and basics for social media and email marketing management. At this time you will also work together on laying out the social media strategy for the duration of the internship. She will continue to send you assigned learning material throughout the duration of the internship. This is both for your learning and growth and for the success of the internship. You are expected to complete a summary of what you learned after each one.
-Because of the remote nature, communication is key in this position. You are expected to respond to all messages from the Marketing Manager promptly.
